Skatton Club est un groupe Ska Jazz & Rocksteady de huit musiciens, jazzy, funky et irrésistible. On se retrouvera par moment projeté dans le charme des années 60, avec des compositions françaises, anglaises et instrumentales et des reprises bien sentis de classiques du genre.

Le son de Montréal, métissé et dansant comme on l’aime !

Charmante et intemporel, la musique du Skatton Club évoque tellement d’images fortes, de couleurs éclatantes et d’ambiances chaleureuses qu’on peut autant s’imaginer dans une fête de quartier que vêtu de ses plus beaux costumes pour une soirée dansante dans une magnifique salle de Bal.

Skatton Club is a Ska & Rocksteady eight pieces group, jazzy, funky and irresistible. You will often find yourselves immersed in the charm of the 60s.

Skatton Club fully reflects the sound of Montreal, culturally diverse and filled with dance!
With French, English, and instrumental compositions, with some classic covers, their music is charming and timeless, Skatton Club evokes strong images, dazzling colors and warm atmospheres. It feels like a neighborhood party as much as a magnificent ballroom chic affair.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Julie Sedivy has taught linguistics and psychology at Brown University and the University of Calgary. She is the author of Memory Speaks: On Losing and Reclaiming Language and Self and Language in Mind: An Introduction to Psycholinguistics, as well as the coauthor of Sold on Language: How Advertisers Talk to You and What This Says About You. She lives in Calgary, Canada.

Gretchen McCulloch is an internet linguist and author of the New York Times bestselling Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language. She’s been the Resident Linguist at Wired and The Toast and is the co-creator of Lingthusiasm, a podcast that’s enthusiastic about linguistics. She lives in Montreal, but also on the internet.
