Come along to the opening of the ELEKTRA festival and take part in two free performances! This is your chance to discover the festival's programme with the artists and partners.

→ 8pm: First #EXOTERRITOIRE expedition. Put on a spacesuit, and set off on a guided exploration through the city! 🧑‍🚀

Jeudi 19 juin, découvrez la première soirée de performance du festival ELEKTRA

🌐 MSHR transforme l’espace en un cinéma vivant où image et son s’influencent à travers la performance Network Entity. Grâce à un système numérique libre et une interface sculpturale, le duo improvise en temps réel des compositions visuelles et sonores immersives.

🍑 Eros Circuitry de Ianna Book explore les tensions entre intimité et dispositif électronique. À travers des capteurs cutanés et des jouets sɛxuɛls, elle capte les impulsions du corps pour moduler le son en direct.

🛠️ Hyper-Crash de Kevin Dubeau donne à voir des objets mécaniques qui semble perdre toute consistence. Véhicules disloqués, matières instables : tout s’effondre lentement, comme si la matière refusait l’ordre qu’on lui a imposé.

Psychedelic figures, sɛxtσys and a car crash 🫨
On Thursday 19 June, discover the first performance evening of the ELEKTRA festival.

🌐 MSHR transforms the space into a living cinema where image and sound influence each other through the performance Network Entity. Using a free digital system and a sculptural interface, the duo improvise immersive visual and sound compositions in real time.

🍑 Eros Circuitry by Ianna Book explores the tensions between intimacy and electronic device. Using skin sensors and sɛxuɛls toys, she captures body impulses to modulate live sound.

🛠️ Hyper-Crash by Kevin Dubeau shows mechanical objects that seem to lose all consistency. Dislocated vehicles, unstable materials: everything slowly collapses, as if matter refused the order imposed on it.

Fond en 2024 par les compositeurs canadiens Michael Cloud Duguay et Andrew MacKelvie, ce label dfend la musique exprimentale travers les genres, unissant les artistes par l'innovation et la collaboration. Vivez une nuito les frontires se dissolventet les paysages sonores se dploient.

En tte d'affiche, QuintonBarnes, un architecte sonore qui transcende les genres, traant une voie audacieuse dans le paysage musical canadien. Son mlange unique d'lectronique, de R&B et de pop cre une tapisserie sonore captivante.

Rejoignez-le avec JasonDoell & Naomi McCarroll-Butler, sculpteurs de sons de seuil, o laprcision numrique rencontre l'esprit d'improvisation brute. Leur performance explore les limites de la cration de sens, mlangeant travail compos et improvis avec la manipulation de la chanede signaux, crant une exprience immersive et transformatrice.

Liam Cole peint des paysages sonores tranquilles avec des rythmes luxuriants et infuss de nature. Ses mlodies entranes par la batterie et ses textures douces voquent la beaut sereine du monde naturel.

Enfin, assistez l'exploration sonore incategorisable d'Alex Bad Baby Lukashevsky. Il cre un paysage sonore existentiel unique et captivant, dfiant les attentes et invitant les auditeurs dans son monde singulier.

WATCH THAT ENDS THE NIGHTS se consacre dvelopper une identit sonore et esthtique unique, difficile dcrire mais facile identifier. Cette soire promet une convergence de talents divers, unis par un engagement envers la musique exploratoire et aventureuse.

Embark on a sonic journey with a curated showcase from theburgeoning independent label, WATCH THAT ENDS THE NIGHTS. Founded in 2024 by Canadian composers Michael Cloud Duguay and Andrew MacKelvie, this label champions experimental music across genres, uniting artists through innovation and collaboration. Experience a night where boundaries dissolve and sonic landscapes unfold.

Headlining the evening is Quinton Barnes, a genre-bending architect of sound, forging a bold path through Canada's musical landscape. His unique blend of electronic, R&B, and pop createsa captivating sonic tapestry.

Joining him are Jason Doell & Naomi McCarroll-Butler, threshold sound sculptors, where digital precisionmeets raw improvisational spirit.Their performance explores the edges of sense-making, blending composed and improvised work with signal chain manipulation, creating animmersive and transformative experience.

Liam Cole paints tranquilsonic landscapes with lush, nature-infused rhythms. His drum-drivenmelodies and gentle textures evoke the serene beauty of the naturalworld.

Finally, witness the uncategorizable sonic exploration of Alex Bad Baby Lukashevsky. Hecrafts a unique and captivating existential soundscape, defying expectations and inviting listeners into his singular world.
