A celebration of the cultures, histories and communities that make up today's Montreal on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day. Join us on a journey inspired by the joyfully decorated and music-filled transits of the Global South. Performances by grassroots artists, craft tables and food, sustainable fashion show and tie-dye workshop, closing parade and evening festivities after 7 p.m. The full program will be published on our website. SPURS combines traditional steps with a range of music—from honky-tonk to new country to contemporary pop. Based in the history of LGBTQ+ country and western dancing, SPURS hosts regular events in Montreal and Toronto.<br />

to present the screening of Devotion & the Black Divine — a cinematic universe co-directed by French-Senegalese artist,
anaiis
. It is the expansion on the visual and sonic world from the 2025 album of the same name. 
Devotion & the Black Divine
is a cinematic meditation on new Black motherhood and the spiritual upheaval it carries. Blending soul, gospel, and chamber pop, the album was recorded live to tape, a deliberate act of surrender to imperfection and presence. Its themes move through unconditional love, self-acceptance, Black heritage, and the quiet power of nurturing. The accompanying art film — shot in Jamaica — extends these themes into moving image.
This event will kickoff anaiis + Grupo Cosmo performance
at the Montreal International Jazz Festival's Rogers Stage on June 26, 2026 @ 10:30 pm
followed by anaiis' solo
Montreal headline show on September 23, 2026 @ Le Ministere

It’s been eight years since Montreal’s The Barr Brothers released a full-length album. In that time, life pulled them in new directions – personally and professionally – altering the way they make music together. Their fourth studio album, Let it Hiss, isn’t just a new collection of songs. It’s a document of transformation. The making of this record marked a pivotal shift: a pause for reflection, a reckoning with vulnerability, and a reconnection between the two brothers who’ve spent over three decades making music side by side.  
“In 2022, we found ourselves at a breaking point,” says Brad Barr, the band’s guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter. “It was clear something had to change. The real story of this record is the story of that change and everything that came after.”  
“Let it Hiss is what happened when we stopped pretending everything was fine and finally listened to what was actually going on”, says Andrew.
