Join us on Tuesday May 12th at In My Lane Queer Bowling at Bowling G Plus for an evening of bowling with fellow queers. Doors at 6:30pm, bowling starts at 7pm until 10pm. We are starting at 7pm sharp so we have enough time to play 3 games. The first game is a practice round and game 1 and 2 is a friendly competition among your peers. The Constellation kick off bike ride/beach hang. Meet at 5pm, departure at 5:30pm SHARP. We will ride bikes to a sketchy beach on the voie maritime. The sketchy beach is magical with best view of the city and the sunset. The bike ride is about 12kms and is mostly flat. We can ride bikes the whole way there. At the end we have to descend a small steep hill and short walk along a path to the water. The accessibility of this terrain depends greatly on the weather immediately before the event (it could be muddy, slippery, overgrown, or dry and very passable). We don't know what beach we will exactly end up on, as this depends on the conditions the day of. Should arrive by 6:30. You can also get there by walking, or taking public transit part of the way and then walking 6-8 kms. No bathrooms, no running water, no services of any kind. Nearest store is 10kms away. RAIN OR SHINE. Things to bring: Water, Snacks, Firewood, Sunscreen (if sunny), Long sleeves and pants (if cool and/or buggy), Bugspray, Lights for the ride home, Friends, Swimming gear (if you wanna swim), Something to sit on, Toilet paper, Games!

Public events take place on May 15 - 16 across spaces at Concordia University in the EV building at the SGW downtown campus. Embodied Interventions is a performance festival involving students from LePARC research cluster and beyond. This year's theme will focus on the overlapping spaces between labour and performance. The work of animation, and the animation of work: to animate a space, to be animated, animare, to give movement or life. In a cultural moment of increased automation and global upheaval, labour becomes disconnected and disembodied. Experiences of precarity and the realities of global capital touch many more of our lives; shaping the way we perform selfhood, making, and relationality. Work bleeds into life, love and leisure. Animation speaks to both the moving body as the sign of freedom, spirit, and liveliness, and to the movement of labour needed to put into motion, to make things happen, to endow matter with life. To (re)animate in this context might be to return to a politic of embodiment, to value both labour and labourer. Through social media and the digital, our relationships to performance are also changed; we take the invisible for granted and fetishize the performative. The machinations of labour are the undercurrent that animates our lives. The work of the performer becomes the work of the contemporary subject - the production of subjectivity, sociality and emotion.

At the whim of our permeable bodies offers a relational and performative experiment around the ritual of tea. The performance begins with the installation of a large table around which the audience is invited to share tea and biscuits. The artist initiates conversations on contemporary issues related to technology and intersectional feminism. Open-ended questions to guests aim to create a safe and sensitive space, leaving room for participants' feelings. In this sense, the work aims to appease fears related to technology while affirming the political power of intimate spaces.
