Join us in store for poetry readings from Isabella Wang, Christina Shah and Misha Solomon, hosted by Sarah Wolfson! Isabella Wang is the author of Pebble Swing (Nightwood Editions, 2021), a finalist for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize, and the chapbook On Forgetting a Language (Baseline Press, 2019). Her poetry and prose have appeared in over thirty literary journals and five anthologies. She directs her own non-profit editing and mentorship program, Revise-Revision Street, and lives in New Westminster, BC. Christina Shah lives in New Westminster and works in heavy industry. Her poetry has appeared in numerous Canadian literary journals and has been shortlisted for the Fiddlehead's 2021 Ralph Gustafson Poetry Prize and has appeared in Best Canadian Poetry 2023. She is one-fifth of the Harbour Centre 5 poetry collective. if: prey, then: huntress is her first full-length poetry collection. Misha Solomon is a homosexual poet in and of Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. He is the author of two chapbooks, Full Sentences (Turret House Press, 2022) and FLORALS (above/ground press, 2020), and his work has appeared in Best Canadian Poetry, Arc, The Fiddlehead, Grain, The Malahat Review, The New Quarterly, Riddle Fence, and & Change. My Great-Grandfather Danced Ballet is his debut full-length collection. Masks are not required, but will be provided at the door. Join us for a talk with Adriana Leigh about her book, Trauma Sensitivity at Work. Trauma Sensitivity at Work is a clear, compassionate, and practical guide to building cultures of inclusion and safety by addressing an underlying cause of persistent workplace challenges: trauma. Drawing on two decades of global experience in workplace human rights, in leadership, and as a policy advisor—as well as her background as a human rights lawyer and her own healing journey—international changemaker Adriana Leigh demonstrates why trauma sensitivity is a core competency of leadership today and shows you how to cultivate it. Adriana Leigh is an award-winning international consultant and changemaker, and the founder and principal consultant at ALG Consulting. She is a former workplace human rights lawyer turned facilitator, working at the intersection of DEI, gender-based violence and harassment prevention, and psychologically safe workplace systems. She has collaborated with organizations worldwide, including the United Nations, international aid agencies, and both private and public sector entities. Recognized for her transformative work, Adriana has been featured by World Pulse as one of the "21 Women Leaders to Watch" and has received the CREA Global Award. She lives in Montreal, Canada.
