Ellen Arkbro (née en 1990) est une compositrice, musicienne et artiste sonore qui travaille avec des harmonies intervalliques accordées avec précision. Son travail comprend des compositions pour instruments acoustiques, pour le son synthétique, ainsi que des installations et des formes hybrides.
À travers son œuvre, elle explore les qualités du son harmonique qui révèlent l’écoute comme un processus actif de participation créative, invitant l’auditeur·rice à se transformer progressivement dans le son lui‑même.
Ellen Arkbro (b. 1990) is a composer, musician and sound artist working with precisely tuned intervallic harmony. Her practice includes compositions for acoustic instruments, synthetic sound, and hybrid forms, as well as installation work.
Across her work, she focuses on the qualities of harmonic sound that frame listening as an active process of creative participation, inviting the listener to gradually merge with the sound itself.

La Fonderie Darling se réjouit de lancer sa programmation estivale lors d’une soirée festive à l’occasion du vernissage de l'exposition de groupe « A Light That Never Goes Out ».

Avec des œuvres d’Omar Castillo Alfaro, Camille Charbonneau, Jesús Hilario-Reyes, Simon Petepiece, Jeremy Shaw et James Webb.

Cette exposition est consacrée aux lueurs qui refusent de rompre face aux ténèbres qui nous entourent. Elle rend ainsi hommage à ces lumières qui nourrissent l’espoir d’une guérison, à celles qui, au cœur de la nuit, veillent sur la fête, recomposent du lien et nous apprennent à ne plus être seuls ensemble.

Fonderie Darling is thrilled to launch its summer program with a festive evening celebrating the opening of the group exhibition ''A Light That Never Goes Out.''

Featuring works by Omar Castillo Alfaro, Camille Charbonneau, Jesús Hilario-Reyes, Simon Petepiece, Jeremy Shaw, and James Webb.

This exhibition is dedicated to the glimmers that refuse to fade in the face of the darkness that surrounds us. It thus pays tribute to those lights that nourish the hope of healing, to those that, in the heart of the night, watch over the celebration, rebuild connections, and teach us all together how to no longer be alone.

Pour son exposition estivale, le Livart a invité six artistes de sa boutique d’art à réinterpréter et explorer une expression de la langue française dont la richesse symbolique demeure souvent méconnue : le bouquet final. À travers leur travail photographique, les artistes en proposent une relecture singulière : à travers l’hommage, le point culminant, la transformation ou la promesse d’avenir. L’exposition met ainsi en lumière la vitalité de la photographie au Québec, tout en créant un dialogue sensible entre tradition et contemporanéité. Dans un monde ultra connecté, marqué par l’instantanéité et la transformation continue, l’exposition invite à ralentir et à redécouvrir la valeur des gestes façonnés par le temps.

Through a series of four outdoor concerts in the parks of Plateau-Mont-Royal, come and meet artists from diverse cultural backgrounds. Each concert celebrates cultural diversity at the crossroads of musical traditions from around the world. This concert, dedicated to Chinese music, will be performed by the duo Ran Wang and Ziya Tabassian. Musical Stopovers is a series of four open-air concerts presented in the parks of the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighbourhood, creating intimate moments of connection between artists and audiences in the heart of the community. Each stopover highlights a musical tradition performed by exceptional artists: Sarah Borna (kamancheh - Persian music), Deo Munyakazi (inganga and vocals – Rwandan music), Ran Wang (guzheng – Chinese music), and Charles Cantin (traditional Quebec violin). All concerts are accompanied by percussionist Ziya Tabassian, fostering a meaningful dialogue between cultures. The project celebrates musical diversity and invites an immersive, accessible, and profoundly human experience. As part of the Cultural Action Support Program. Cancelled in case of heavy rain.

Fusion des espèces, dérive structurelle et identités floues 🌌
Le vendredi 19 juin, plongez dans la deuxième soirée du Festival ELEKTRA « Brave Nouveau Monde » à PHI.

🎤 MERGING SPECIES unit geste, voix d’opéra et électronique en une composition vivante. Avec un dispositif gestuel porté, Gabriela Hébert module en temps réel la voix de la soprano Michelle Bawden, créant un dialogue de contrôle et de résistance où tension et harmonie s’entrelacent.

🌊 Structural Drift d’Antoine De Schuyter transforme rythmes naturels et motifs organiques en paysages audiovisuels immersifs. À travers la déconstruction et la recomposition en direct, le son devient espace, l’image devient émotion, pour une expérience à la fois intime et expansive.

🎭 Blurring Identities de Tanya St-Pierre et Philippe-Aubert Gauthier puise dans des centaines de collages pour articuler son et musique en un assemblage éclaté de timbres, rythmes et notes. Une performance vidéo et sonore où les frontières s’estompent.
