Comic and Whitepaper Launch at 4th Space in Montreal (and livestreamed on Youtube) 4-6pm

Join us for a lively conversation about games and work! We're launching a comic and whitepaper about alternative labour modes like co-ops and unions. Attend in person and pick up a free copy of the comic, while supplies last.

Chez les W8banakiak (Abénakis), les pierres sont des porteuses de mémoire, ce sont elles qui nous permettent encore aujourd’hui de percevoir les histoires de celles et ceux qui étaient là avant afin de les transmettre aux générations suivantes. We're back at the Centaur Theatre with six more autobiographical stories, shared by the people who lived them. This month, the theme is Risky Business: Stories of Bad Decisions, Good Instincts and Questionable Choices. Expect stories of the risks we took that really paid off -- or... maybe not so much.

As we face the climate crisis, pessimistic, depressing, even nihilistic narratives dominate our global discourse, driven by scientists reporting facts and projections. How we tell that story, makes a difference. We need a range of moods and voices, and to include optimism, survival, resilience, transcendence and positivity, to carry us through dark times and help us make tough choices. The science fiction community has understood this. Hopepunk is a speculative fiction genre dedicated to positive narratives of social change and transformation,  emphasizing empathy, kindness, community, and care. Over two days in October 2023 (12th and 13th), Montreal 2140: Hopeful Futures in Science and Storytelling will bring together writers, researchers, and students across disciplines to tackle key questions at the nexus of storytelling and the climate crisis.

4 nouveaux membres incroyables se sont joints à notre équipe cette année et nous avons amélioré les espaces de travail pour répondre au besoin des particuliers, organismes et entreprises désireux d'arrêter de prendre la planète pour un dépotoir!

Cet agrandissement vient avec des risques surtout dans une économie précaire où les PMEs tombent comme des mouches. C’est pourquoi nous lançons une série d’activités de sociofinancement cet automne. Nous faisons appel à votre soutien pour nous donner le boost nécessaire pour finir notre année sans se brûler à la tâche.
