Abdul-Wahab a fait ses tudes de ouden 1989 au Conservatoire nationalde musique dAmman, en Jordaniesous la tutelle de Sakher Hattar.Pendant son sjour Amman, il a galement reu l'enseignement et les conseils du virtuose irakien de l'oud Munir Bashir. Il a perform travers le Moyen-Orient, lEurope et lAmrique du Nord. En 2020, il a co-fond le triode musique du monde Les Arrivants Montral avec Hamin Honari et Amichai Ben Shalev. Il a galement sorti son premier album solo Juthoor en 2020.

Ses projets ont t reconnus et soutenus par la Fondation Abdul-Hameed Shoman et la Fondation Bank Al Etihad en Jordanie, et il obtient la reconnaissance et lappui du Conseil des arts du Canada, du Conseildes arts et des lettres du Qubec, du Conseil des arts de Montral et du Conseil qubcois de la musique.

En plus de se produire avec Les Arrivants travers le Canada et les tats-Unis, il a rcemment collabor pour jouer et enregistrer avec Tariq Harb (le guitare classique), Saeed Farajpouri (kamancheh), Salah Eddin Maraqa (kanoun), Sheila Hannigan (le violoncelle), Merrie Klazek (la trompette), Haitham Haidar (voix), et ensemble Constantinople.

Abdul-Wahab commenced his oud studies in 1989 at the National Music Conservatory of Amman,
Jordan under the tutelage of Sakher Hattar. While in Amman, he also received tutelage and guidance from Iraqi oud virtuoso Munir Bashir. He has performed widely as a soloist and an ensemblemember throughout the Middle East, Europe, and North America. In 2020, Abdul-Wahab co-founded the world music trio Les Arrivants in Montreal with Hamin Honari and Amichai Ben Shalev. He also released his debut solo album Juthoor in 2020.

His projects have gained recognition and support from the Abdul-Hameed Shoman Foundation and Bank Al Etihad Foundation in Jordan, as well as the Canada Council for the Arts, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Quebec (CALQ), the Conseil des arts de Montreal(CAM), and the Conseil Quebecois de la Musique (CQM). In addition to performing with Les Arrivants across Canada and the US, he has most recently collaborated to performand record with Tariq Harb (classical guitar), Saeed Farajpouri (kamancheh), Salah Eddin Maraqa (qanoun), Sheila Hannigan (cello), Merrie Klazek (trumpet), Haitham Haidar (voice), and ensemble Constantinople.

a fait maintenant 2 ans que le jam se droule au Studio Pierre-Paul Savoie, 5333 Casgrain, studio 716. Et on va fter a !

Lesportes ouvriront exceptionnellement 17h15 pour le Potluck ! De la nourriture sera servie, et on vous invite apporter votre meilleur plat maison pour contribuer au festin ! Svp indiquer les ingrdients sur un bout de papier pour informer les participants

On poursuivra ensuite avec un cercle d'ouverture , suivi d'un chauffement de 20 30 minutes inspir d'approches somatiques et autres permettant une prise de contact avec sa propre corporalit avant d'aller la rencontre des autres danseurs.

Par la suite, le jam se poursuit jusqu' 20h30, et nous ferons alors un court cercle de fermeture. Nous aurons ensuite la possibilit de rester dans l'espace pour changer entre nous. Les danseurs de tous niveaux sont les bienvenus.

In the framework of our exhibition With an Acre, join us for three evenings in Parc Baile with music and screenings of Brazilian documentary films selected by Ana Alice de Morais, artistic co-director of the Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM). These evenings are an opportunity to learn about issues related to the intensive exploitation of natural resources and agricultural land in Brazil and the struggles of rural and Indigenous communities to preserve their land rights, culture, traditions, and independence.

Each evening will begin with music and pão de queijo in the park at 7:30pm, followed by a screening on our façade at 8:30pm.

8:30pm: Screening of Mundurukuyü – The Forest of The Fish Women
Directed by Aldira Akay, Beka Munduruku, Rilcélia Akay, 2025, 72 min, English subtitles
Three women from the Daje Kapap Eypi audiovisual collective take up the camera as a weapon in defence of their ancestry, ensuring the preservation and transmission of their indigenous Munduruku mythology that speaks of the origins of the world, when humans transformed into forests, plants, and animals.

These events are open to all and no registration is required. In the event of rain, the screening will take place inside the museum.

Activité d'écoute du paysage sonore et création d'espace de liberté artistique.

Listening to nature & to ourselves, cultivating a space for creation.

La nature est queer. Elle occupe certains interstices de la ville et peut nous offrir des lieux de ressourcement, de rassemblement et d’inspiration. Le Chœur queer t’invite au Champ des possibles, où les herbes poussent librement, pour un atelier artistique lors duquel tu pourras découvrir le paysage sonore et interagir avec celui-ci. L’atelier sera l’occasion d’écouter attentivement l’environnement sonore de ce corridor vert traversé par les animaux humains et non humains, puis de «répondre» au lieu, d’explorer les voix en soi pour les faire résonner avec les sons qui habitent l’espace et prendre conscience de nos connexions à l’espace. Le tout se terminera par une période de discussion et de partage autour de nos ressentis et expériences. Le Chœur queer est un collectif de personnes des communautés LGBTQIAP+ aux pratiques vocales diverses se réunissant autour de leur envie de faire chœur dans un esprit d’exploration et de jeu.
L'événement se tiendra beau temps mauvais temps. Il ne sera annulé qu'en cas de pluies abondantes ou de temps orageux.

L'activité, gratuite, est soutenue par l'arrondissement du Plateau-Mont-Royal.

ACCESSIBILITÉ
Le lieu est entouré de trottoirs en béton, craquelés par endroits. Les sentiers de terre battue et de gravier qui le traversent sont parfois étroits, parfois rocailleux et inégaux, et peuvent devenir boueux selon la météo des jours précédents. Il existe une aire de repos avec des bancs de béton. Des toilettes chimiques sont disposées à quelque distance du lieu. Merci de contacter Jade pour plus de détails à propos de l'accessibilité du lieu.

L'endroit est contaminé en raison de son passé industriel. Sans que le Champ ne présente de danger pour la santé lorsqu'on le traverse, des rapports recommandent de ne pas toucher ou goûter aux plantes qui s'y trouvent.
La station de métro Rosemont est à une douzaine de minutes de marche, idem pour la station Laurier (sortie Laurier). Les lignes d’autobus 30-31–Saint-Denis et 55–Saint-Laurent s’arrêtent tout près. Des stations de BIXI (Saint-Viateur / De Gaspé ou Henri-Julien / du Carmel) de même que le REV sont situés à proximité.

RECONNAISSANCE TERRITORIALE
Les terres sur lesquelles nous tiendrons cet atelier font partie de territoires traditionnels des Kanien’kehá:ka et des Anishinaabe, appelées Tiohtià:ke ou Mooniyang dans leur langue respective. La nation Kanien’kehá:ka en est considérée la gardienne et nous souhaitons exprimer notre gratitude à leurs actions pour préserver les terres et les eaux qui nous entourent au passé, au présent et aussi dans l'avenir.
Le colonialisme a apporté avec lui un rapport au territoire malsain, fait d'exploitation des ressources et de propriété privée. Ses impacts nocifs s'étendent aussi aux rapports sociaux de genre, notamment par la stigmatisation et la marginalisation des personnes bispirituelles.

Le Chœur queer valorise l'écoute (de soi et des autres) et l'accessibilité universelle. Inspiré par les idées de bell hooks et d'adrienne maree brown, l'ensemble cultive un espace brave où on peut nommer les malaises et les oppressions afin de travailler à les démanteler.

Nature is queer. It occupies interstices in the city and can offer spaces of revitalization, gathering, and inspiration. Chœur queer invites you to Champ des possibles, where herbs grow freely, for an artistic workshop during which you can explore the soundscape and interact with it. The workshop will give you the opportunity to listen carefully to the sounds of that green corridor used by human and non-human animals. We will then echo the environment and explore the voices within us to have them resonate with the soundscape, to develop an awareness of our connections to the space and people around us. The workshop will end with a discussion and sharing moment around what we felt and experienced. Chœur queer is a collective of people from the LGBTQIAP+ communities with diverse vocal practices, united by the desire to gather around a spirit of exploration and play.
The event will be held rain or shine. It will only be canceled if there is heavy rain or stormy weather.

ACCESSIBILITY INFO
The area is surrounded by concrete sidewalks, cracked in places. The dirt and gravel paths that cross the Champ are sometimes narrow, sometimes rocky and uneven, and can become muddy depending on the weather on previous days. There is a rest area with concrete benches. Chemical toilets are available at some distance from the site. Please contact Jade for details on accessibility.
The site is contaminated due to its industrial past. Although the Champ does not present a health hazard when crossed, reports recommend not to touch or taste any of the plants found there.
Rosemont or Laurier metro station is about a 12-minute walk from the Champ. Bus lines 30-31–Saint-Denis and 55–Saint-Laurent stop nearby. BIXI stations (Saint-Viateur / De Gaspé or Henri-Julien / du Carmel) as well as the REV are located close by.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The lands on which we'll be holding this workshop are part of the traditional territories of the Kanien'kehá:ka and Anishinaabe peoples, known as Tiohtià:ke or Mooniyang in their respective languages. The Kanien'kehá:ka Nation is considered their custodian, and we wish to express our gratitude towards their actions in preserving the lands and waters that surround us, past, present and future.
Colonialism brought an unhealthy relationship with the land, based on the exploitation of resources and private property. Its harmful impacts also extend to gender relations, notably through the stigmatization and marginalization of two-spirited people.
We invite everyone present with us to question their actions and thought patterns, to become aware of the impacts of this history, and to reflect on the actions within their reach to counter the status quo and do better. For example, we encourage everyone to learn more about the First Peoples, to connect with the art that has been made in the past and is being made today, and to contribute with their time, money and energy to the current native struggles, to the best of their ability.
Chœur queer values listening (to oneself and others) and universal accessibility. Inspired by the ideas of bell hooks and adrienne maree brown, the ensemble cultivates a brave space where we can name discomforts and oppressions in order to work to dismantle them.

CHANTALNEVEU is a francophone author of seven books of poetry and numerousinterdisciplinary literary works presented in Canada, and abroad. At the heart of her practice, a method of scriptage, based on listening, irrigates a literal and physical poetry with which she explores the idyll in all directions. Her books translated into English are published by Book*hug Press: Cot by Angela Carr, A Spectacular Influence by Nathanal, This Radiant Life by Ern Moure (Winner of the 2021 Governor Generals Literary Award for Translation, Winnerof the 2021 Nelson Ball Prize), and more recently, you by Ern Moure. Chantal Neveu is based in Tiohti:ke/Montreal.

CHRISTOF MIGONE is an artist, teacher, curator, and writer. He often works with language, voice, bodies, performance, intimacy, complicity, and endurance. His writings have been published in Aural Cultures, Experimental Sound & Radio, Radio Rethink, Semiotext(e), Angelaki,Esse, Inter, Performance Research, Oxford Handbook of Sound Art, Sound Art (ZKM/MIT), etc. A book compiling his writings on sound art, Sonic Somatic: Performances of theUnsound Body was published in 2012 by Errant Bodies Press. He is a founding member of Avatar. With Alexandre St-Onge he runs Squint Press. He recently was a recipient ofthe Glenfiddich Artist Residency with Marla Hlady. He is currently curating a 12-year long event titled You And I Are Water Earth Fire Air Of Life And Death. He lives inToronto and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual Arts at Western University in London, Ontario.

A ubiquitous musician and composer, MICHEL F CT was born inMontreal, the year the submarine USS Nautilus made history by travelling under the North Poles icecap. He composes a great deal fortheatre and dance projects. Indeed, he has over a hundred and fortyprojects under his belt, making him a very prolific composer/designer. Since 1990, he has appeared onmore than seventy albums. He is associated with the Ambiances Magntiques record label, on top of being the co-founder of the label &records. Hes also running the label Sono Sordo. We can find him backing up these acts: Mecha Fixes Clocks, Klaxon Gueule, Pink Saliva,Jane & the magick bananas, and Tiari Kese a duo with himself. In June 2022, he publishes a book/object, Danses venir. Written incollaboration with Catherine Lavoie-Marcus, Danses venir is a collection of 161 proposed dances that speculates about the art of choreography and invents its future with no concern for feasibility.

JONATHAN PARANT is an experiential rock musician who seeks to assign noise signals functions of minimal determination. His guitar, transformed into a synthesis interface, allows him to probe the thresholds of apperception. With the complicity of loudspeakers, he now pursues his quest for surface affects under the name Actors Artificial (AA). His current process explores the dormant capacities inherent ina practice of duration. Since then, he has moved through banal episodes which, despite their apparentinsignificance, bind him to the exception that is the real. His manifestations dissipate through telluric or post-geographic networks, notably within the group Fly Pan Am. His work has been released on the labels Squint Fucker Press and Constellation. His most recent project under the AA moniker was published by Superpang and Disfold Ltd.
